The Israeli Association for Theatre Research (IATR) was established about twenty years ago, as a learned society the mission of which is to bring together researchers and teachers of theatre from all academic institutions in the country. It is convening annually by rotation in one of the Israeli universities and colleges. The association combines the presentation of work in progress and research by well-established academics and artists in the field of theatre and performance with those of young and upcoming ones, and attempts to help publish the best crop of its annual presentations.
